The number of tourists visiting Tunisia has increased by 33.5 percent at the end of March 2017, compared to the same period of 2016, to 1 million tourists, said Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Salma Elloumi Rekik.
Khaled Fakhfekh, President of the Tunisian Hotel Federation stressed the importance of the Tunisian market which has regressed over the last three years. He recalled that Tunisians spent 5 million overnight stays between 2015 and 2016.
In a statement to TAP, the representative of a Czech Travel Agency said the travel agency is participating in the fair to meet and arrange deals with partners and hotel owners and to improve market performance.
He reminded that the number of Czech tourists has increased by 50 percent in 2017 compared to last year. Their number would reach 60,000 tourists against 32,000 in 2016.
Several European tour companies and cruise operators suspended operations following the Sousse attack.
